Crinkles are soft, fudgy cookies coated with powdered sugar that crack during baking, creating their signature "crinkled" appearance. These sweet treats are often made in chocolate, but they can also be flavored with ube, lemon, or red velvet. Chocolate crinkles are the most classic and beloved version, perfect for holidays or everyday indulgence.

How to Make Chocolate Crinkles
Mix dry ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Mix wet ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil. Mix well. Add the eggs one at a time, beating until smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Combine wet and dry ingredients:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
Chill the dough:
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight. This makes the dough easier to handle and enhances the flavor.
Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or grease them lightly.
Shape the cookies:
Scoop 1 tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball. Roll each ball generously in powdered sugar, ensuring it is completely coated.
Bake the cookies:
Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cookies are puffed and the tops are cracked.
Cool and serve:
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
